Sometimes I remember that I was really alive when Michael Jordan was at his peak.
If the price for that is living through Trump then I guess it is what it is. Sigh.

I liked it. Autonomy. No emotional labor. Noise cancelling headphones means people leave you alone. And you can go vroom.
The secretary of Miami-Dade County’s GOP started a group chat for conservative students — and within 3 weeks, it was filled with over 400 instances of the N-word, Nazi rhetoric and writings of "dozens of ways of violently killing Black people"
From Mary Ann to WTF. I will never get over it.
I really sat thru my subscriptions again and realized I really don’t need audible when I have Libby and can cancel all my streaming and just keep YouTube premium. I also decided Amazon prime also needs to go. I’m keeping it simple going forward.
Last year when I was checking into a hotel, the desk person was wearing Meta glasses. I kindly asked them to take them off. They were annoyed. I said, “I do not consent to you looking at my credit card and ID with Meta glasses on.” My instincts were correct: www.bbc.com/news/article...
No I’m not! Never had anyone ask me to marry them or anything. And I don’t play with people’s faith.
You know how they taught us to fill out job applications??? Well it took. 😂😂 we Lions knew how to get a J-O-B.
😂😂
I always wanted the job the guys were doing. Their jobs had autonomy. Women’s jobs only had responsibility. I couldn’t articulate that at the time but that’s what it was.
I literally know those guys (sorry to gender but as yet it hasn’t been a woman). They also come to my talks lol
I missed this today. A lot to news!
I did not lol
But my dad had a stint selling Kirbys.
They would let damn near anyone who looked like they could pass the test drive one by the time I came around. I couldn’t do the ones with the hydraulic seats. I was too short. But I could do the smaller electrics
Let me tell you how fast they came upstairs, sequestered my computer and walked my ass out. It was stunning really. The ONE thing this incompetent company was brutally efficient about. I should have noted that at the time!
Oh! And I got fired from one of the jobs for googling “how to start a union” on the work computer, like an absolute dweeb
Yep! And new options for women and extended sizes and much better style choices than the hells angels Harley schtick. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Selling half. Laws were changing at the time, faster the prep class I took for the exam. And I got another job before I went back for a second course on buying
Almost all of them were people who…pressed the mysterious button
Most others were for directions. This is before gps in cars and on phones.
Emergencies weren’t that common and they went to another dedicated line
Oh my dear this isn’t success. This is working class near-poverty. :)
I’m sure you are already more successful in all the ways that count. There are so many ways to be successful
Dang now I’m remembering.
Bank teller
IRS data entry
LabCorp bio something or the other
You know it was Cutco 😂
Like none of this was for fun. It’s how I *lived*. You know, for food and housing.
When I tell you that my absolute favorite thing is when people with trust funds and professional parents go HAM on me being an elite? I mean it cracks me up.
You totally should. I did a course out in Salisbury that was good. It would qualify you for either two or three wheels. Most courses do one or the other. Bikes come with bad ass costumes.
Door to door sales (may i interest you in a knife??)
Pharmacy tech (may I interest you in blood pressure pills??)
Line cook
Drive through window
Copywriter
Telecom trainer
I almost got one during Covid but ended up with the car instead lol
And of my dozens of jobs, I have been:
A 411 operator
That voice on the otherside of OnStar, if you remember that technology
A health insurance benefits counselor
A barista
The person who stuffed the Sunday circulars into your newspaper (if you remember newspapers)
An AM radio DJ & producer
