Why does you licence need anything besides a photo and an address?

This is not written by AI. LLMs entire thing is fluency.

This is still true of agentic harnesses

Claude is an LLM, just like ChatGPT, any LLM can be in an agentic harness.

Such a disingenuous take

I mean to be fair either than tank is tiny or those soldiers are massive.

I think governments should fund but I’m not sure of any cases where I want govt making healthcare choices for people. If a doctor decides something is medically necessary why should a politician override that? Overall funding sure, but feels like micromanaging

Just don’t think it’s any of governments business tbh.

“Man who owns company says companies products are great” really isn’t a headline.

This is my fault. I’m getting ready to put my house on the market and the last two times I moved house are: 2008 and 2020. I’m sorry all.

Also we’re really fucking good at computing as a nation and the fact that for example Deep Mind gets consumed by Google and we don’t even have our own British social media or Amazon like your average EU country and we get Palantir to science our data seems like a massive failure of the state IMO.

Now we have agentic AI maybe if I try an get around the paywall it can pop up shouting “this is not a library!” Like the newsy of old?

Feel like some way to pay £1 an get “today’s articles” from one newspaper/site would be worth it. And ideally literally just hit the Apple Pay button not spend three months filling in personal details. It should try and mimic the newsstand experience really.

Gee I’m glad we avoided that future.

Yeah that just read as “normal liberal centre right person” to me.

Oh yeah Reform would fuck it up completely.

I used to work with an Iranian guy who as he told us was sent to “the maths school” because of his test scores and thought it worked well for him. He was earning a lot in the City after an Oxford PhD mind.

I’m not convinced it’s as terrible as some feel. But do think 11 is too young.

My partner is Dutch and dropped a level cos she thought it was easier she says but also is amazed at how much school matters here compared to NL. I do think without reforming private schools grammars offer something but it’s not really educational and the answer is reform private.

I think a split at 14 is valuable for other reasons. Having worked in a three school system it makes sense to me to not have 11 year olds mixing with 18 year olds. They’re very different with very different needs.

I dunno I’ve worked in some pretty big schools that still can’t offer things like construction (also a H&S legislation issue) or Computing even.

We make kids choose at 14 already. Thats what option blocks are. We can offer generalist schools for those that don’t know what they want to do.

06.03.2026 09:42 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Fact is generalist schools often can’t offer the breadth many kids want at L2.

06.03.2026 09:35 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I’m not sure kids change much between 14 and 16 in my experience. Many know what they want to do and want to get on with it, unlike at 11. We already select kids for foundation/higher or push them towards/away from certain subjects informally.

I think most would benefit from 14-19 being cohesive.

I’d also scrap KS2 SATs so you could see it as moving them back three years.

06.03.2026 09:26 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

We do selection at 16 now (my daughter has just been told she can only have a place at sixth form if she gets certain GCSEs). I’d rather move it forward a bit an remove GCSEs.

I think there’s a place for selection and specialisation in 14-19. I think all segregation including religious and private should be banned before 14 though. Kids change hugely at puberty.

There’s no such system.

But before settlement you have zero access and after you have the same as anyone who lives here right? Or have I misunderstood?
