You go and use the bathroom first.” Within five minutes, HayWire has brushed his teeth, and is dressed in his classic Grandad pyjamas with blue and white stripes. He climbs into bed, desperately tired, rests his head on the pillow, spots the Carnation and sees a starry eyed Conning looking at him. He smiles naturally, “I’ve had a lovely evening, thank you for taking me to the ball.” Five minutes later, Conning is out of the bathroom, wearing a simple, short, white satin négligé and matching cami knickers. She extinguishes the lamp, and climbs into bed beside him. HayWire is not in the mood to argue. She kisses him on the temple, a simple, soft peck, and then throws her arms around him, raises her left knee to rest it on top of his leg, letting her crotch rest against his left hip.
