The offset amount of each creature is halved in the subsequent frames until it is small enough to not matter, and they will appear to be moving towards the location they have already moved to. (3/3)

Moving in a direction adds an offset to the creature’s sprite in the opposite direction. So if the creature moved one tile left, its sprite is offset by one tile to the right so its sprite stays at the same location. (2/)

And in case you were asking how we made the creatures move at the same time: each creature’s movement is processed in sequence (so no two creatures will end up stepping into the same empty tile) in a single frame. (1/)

You can escape it if you go through two doors before it can go through one. There is also another creature AI reserved for elite enemies that just pathfinds towards you from anywhere on the map, with random intervals between path updates for better performance and more organic movements. (4/4)

In effect this means a Housepet will chase you to your last known location it could see. Even if you leave a room before it could catch up to you, it will follow you to the door you left through. If you are still in the next room the door leads to, it will start chasing you again. (3/)
