Poem #13 is by beloved Julio Cortázar, translated by Stephen Kessler, excellent poet and translator as well as a student of Jack Hirschman at UCLA in the 60s. I hope it inspires you to write a poem of your own.
Here’s her prize-winning poem, if anyone’s interested - it’s a gut punch ❤️

Write a poem today for her.
Fill it with rage.
Fill it with defiance.
Fill it with grief.
There will never be enough words, but a poem can hold it somehow. A paradox, a fold in time, a miracle of expression.
Write a poem today.
For her.

è inverno, anima,
è inverno.

Happy New Year, everyone! Here is the 1st poem of the year. Looking forward to more poeming. Wrote about 160+ poems in 2025.
Happy New Year to me! I'll ask Odin to teach me a trick or two. 🙃
Artistic #tarots by Ozge Sahin that my friend Matteo got me as a gift. I love them. Perfect to celebrate our tarots-inspired book coming soon. 🙂
2025 was a hard year, but it came with some gifts:

2. My first acceptance by Beloit Poetry Journal for a poem in translation.
3. The signature of a contract for the publication of a mosaic novel inspired by the Tarots that I wrote with my friend Matteo.

My wonderful son sent me this book as a Xmas gift. I have always loved Patricia's poems. And, I admire how she is a master when writing long poems. I am so pleased to find "When the Burning Begins." Always a favorite. Grazie Edo! ❤️
When I was a kid, my dad took this picture of me. For me this photo is the epitome of Christmas. Of the magic and wonder of Christmas. I hope you can still feel that Wonder. Happy Christmas to you all! ❤️

Happy B-day Chet.

Poem #152, for this Christmas Eve, is by Louise Glück. It is named "Pietà." A beautiful poem that inspired me to write a #Christmas poem.
My friend Matteo and I have signed a contract for our first mosaic novel. It is a book based on the Tarots' Major Arcana, set in Testaccio, a beloved district of Rome. I can't wait for this unconventional, pop book to be out in the world!
Woke up at 5:30. Today is the first anniversary of my dad's passing away. My first full year without him. I miss his smile, his joy, his sense of humor. A robin was singing close to my window early on. Hallowed be its tender song.
Aeolian Harp has nominated my poem "Tomboy" for a Pushcart Prize. It is my first Pushcart nomination and I am so very grateful to Aeolian Harp, Editor Ami Kaye and Connie Post for selecting this poem for publication!
Reversed Star. Time to reconnect with hope and practice self-care. Time for renewal.
The sting of rejections.
Truly so, Majda. Stoppard flew to Rome to support the Belarus Free Company. He politely refused to answer questions pertaining to his own work. A real champion of integrity.
Tom Stoppard was an exceptional playwright and man. I was so lucky as to be his interpreter in 2012 here in Rome. (Photo source: Teatro di Roma)
