Doc's pleased with my progress so far! No need to up my med dosage, just need to keep taking tests.

I do gotta go in for an ECG on Friday though, just generally getting an idea of where I'm currently at

Today, I made the conscious effort to do a 25-ish minute walk around the back roads of my village, and my blood sugar just before dinner dropped to 'normal' levels

Something to talk about with the doc for sure!

Update on the diabetes stuff:

I'm already seeing some encouraging signs after some small changes to my lifestyle - most notably, yesterday I noticed a considerable dip in my blood sugar after walking a decent distance around town.

For real, I wasn't even aware anything was wrong with me until I got that diagnosis, but it's entirely possible I've just been used to it for a long time.

So, trying to look on the bright side - if I can make those changes I might find I'm feeling a lot better and more energetic than I have been!

Honestly if it hadn't been for the routine eye exam I got last month I wouldn't have even realised anything was amiss - I'm perhaps understandably a bit anxious but also kind of relieved that it's been identified and there's stuff I can do about it, you know?

Anyway, man it's been a week, ahah

Hi hello there! Got a bit of bad news: I have been officially diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes

Thankfully the doc has been super nice and helpful in getting me set up - I've got some finger prick tests to take over the weekend, and some meds to reduce my blood sugar.

Scary news, but manageable!

I've also done a bit of reading out of order - Thief of Time is also a solid read, definitely recommend it

I got hit with the itch to read Discworld again recently, and fell in with my old physical copies of The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic again

Just finished the first and started on the second, I adore Sir Terry's writing style so much

As for what I'll be streaming - thinking of starting off with a fun lil' roguelike deckbuilder I just picked up, and then maybe Rimworld? Been trying to get back into that, haha

It's been a hot minute since I've streamed, so i think I'm going to set something up a little later today, to round out the week! Same deal as usual, heading out on a snack run first, and then I'll come back and get started!
