i also got Ys X: Proud Nordics on PC at launch, and i've been wanting to play some of it to unlock the cosmetics and make funny post, but i've had to do a lot of catch up with other things lately.

If you have not yet played DK Bananza but intend to play it eventually, like me, do yourself a favor and do NOT look up DKC music. I went to listen to crocodile cacophony last night and was immediately met with a major spoiler from the new game.
Bananza's Gangplank Galleon is genuinely a banger for the ages in the same way that Ys music is (โผ๏ธ), but i think i just let myself get spoiled, since as cool as the game is: im also not planning on getting a Switch 2 for the foreseeable future

The combat feels so good in Ys X. The game really wants you to understand dodging/guarding compared to some of the other 3D titles. I've died a couple times to this boss before getting the pattern down.
Ys X is such an amazing game, it didn't deserve to be treated by Falcom and NISA the way it is
the Switch 2 devkit thing confirms that Ys is Falcom's more experimental series, which can be good sometimes, but it can absolutely fall face flat as well (like now)
I CAN FINALLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO PEOPLE AGAIN
