There were so many things I enjoyed about the earlier series, but it feels like they overcomplicated it. It wasn’t supposed to be high art - just really good telly. And I feel like they forgot that a bit. But that’s just me.

I haven’t finished the finale yet (see above!) but imo the pacing in this series has been awful. It’s taken forever to pick up and there’ve been too many laborious subplots (also in the previous series). And I say this as someone who prefers series in general and even reads fanfic at times…

The conclusion of Stranger Things may be perfectly good (we’ve only just started it) but two hours eight minutes isn’t an ‘episode’. That’s a movie, and not even a short movie. I’m tired of streaming as an excuse for lazy film-making.

Are they bollocks. The drop in children attending private schools is only 0.6% when adjusted against total student population and the trend has been downwards for a decade. This is just PR for the independent sector.

obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)
