A figure on a path in dense fog.
A cold foggy river.
A figure just visible in the mist on a path. Branches obscure the foreground.
A winding path in a park.
Grabbed the camera for a foggy morning.

Starting the new year with a plan with my wife to watch one movie from each of the last 100 years of cinema that we havent seen. 2 randomly picked years each week.
The first weeks years are 1929 and 2015.
Always happy to get recommendations.

Exploring retro 3D software and getting into the winter spirit with VistaPro. So much fun seeing these tools render out in high resolutions.
3D Artist show your wireframes!
A picture of the night sky over a building and trees. Two vertical streaks of red aurora float in the sky.
I always love the small moments when so many people can look up and have a shared moment of simply seeing something beautiful. A little reminder we all share this precious little space stone together.
Pulling out an old spooky animation for Halloween. Stay spooky friends. #b3d #3danimation #blender
Old eevee is the best example to visualize. It will randomly move the light source inside its size area for each sample eevee renders. It was needed for soft shadows in old eeevee and helps with accuracy over just post process shadow blur in the new eevee.
Does not happen on Samsung Galaxy S24.
Honestly the subsurface update helping with overdarkening on intersections is huge. Its a problem I run into a lot with things like snow and the skin around characters eyes. Lots of other fun stuff but that one is just a sigh of relief.
Oh my god is that the ship from the asteroids cover! Beautiful work.
Left is probe volume mixed with Raytracing GI, Right is raytracing without probe volumes. Huge benefits for indoor scenes to combine the two.
Here's the raw Volume bake, but it's best used in conjuction with raytracing, or light baking. ( With raytracing this will be used for all offscreen creating more accurate lighting and less edge artifacts. It's a little tricky to work with, I can either DM you later today with details if you'd like
Im very interested to see how it turns out. Mass Effect in the belt is a very good starting pitch.
A walk in the woods always does me a world of good.
With 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' in cinemas, here's @beforesmag.bsky.social's ode to the infamous log truck VFX in 'Final Destination 2'.
I crawled through Digital Dimensionβs old website to find some amazing video & info about how *that scene* was made.

Did a little digging and if you're wanting some of that authenticity VCE are distributing their stock on Pond 5 now if you wanted to use it in your project: www.pond5.com/stock-footag...
It takes talent for sure. One of the biggest helps though is it allows one person focusing per task. The DP on composition, first AC on focus, Director on actors performance. Than as soon as the shot is over you know whether all those things worked without having to take time to play the clip back.
On the film sets my wife has worked on its mostly the 1st AC doing manual focus. To many objects and shifting focus you need to have. They might use an automatic system in some specific uses but its less often.
Ooooh thats some tasty UI animations.
Had the exact same reaction seeing that this morning. Lol
Oh yeah I vibe with this. Snagged an album thanks for sharing your music!
Looking for recommendations for some albums to pickup for Bandcamp Friday, especially in the instrumental, orchestral, electronic, vaporwave genres. Let me know of any artist on there I should check out! #bandcamp #bandcampfriday
3D animation practice piece. Enjoyed putting the audio together for this one too. #b3d #3Dart

The FEN, native to the second moon of the ringed planet, are curious and kind creatures. Their distinct fur helps them blend in with the snow and crystal caverns in which they live. A great sense of direction makes them helpful in finding cover during the frequent blizzards. #b3d #gamedev
Snowy mountains white with snow and deep blue shadows. A large peak rises in the center of the frame.
A foggy forest dawn with the trees silhouetted by the bright sun behind them.

A busy large stone building lighting split down the middle with.
A high rise building from above in black and white. Each floor alternates from glass to white facade creating stripes.
Two buildings overlapping one white and lit by the sun another dark and in shadow.
3 cooling towers on top of a skyscraper in black and white.
Uploading older art. Photos from Chicago.
Taking HDR's while on vacation is a strangely nice way to remember moments of your trip while working once you're back. (Thanks polyhaven for some nice test models) #b3d #3D
Update on my pixel art guide for beginners:
Transferred all the information from Tumblr to a Google Doc, so anyone who doesn't have a Tumblr account can now read through the whole thing!
I also updated quite a bit of information too.
I hope it will help somebody!
