It’s so odd to me that I have never wanted a tattoo. I don’t particularly like them (nothing against those who do). But for whatever reason, I had a dream last night that one of my friends from work took me to get one in honor of my grandmother (who hated tattoos). Weird brain things.

20 years ago, the US government was gripped by an unpopular Republican trifecta in the midst of two unpopular wars based on lies and misinformation.
In the 2006 midterms Dems:
•flipped 5 seats to win the Senate 51-49.
•flipped 31 seats to win the House 233-202.
•flipped 6 governorships
It’s bittersweet because it’s good to hear from them, but it’s painful knowing that I didn’t get to see them grow up or be part of their lives because of my father’s abuse and selfishness.
Recently two of my siblings, my middle sister and my youngest brother have reached out to inform me that I’m an uncle to two beautiful nieces. They understand why I went no contact and that the relationships I had with them were just sad casualties beyond my control. They were just kids then.
I have been estranged from my father and that entire side of the family for over 10 years. All of my siblings are from him, so when I went no contact with him, it unfortunately meant no contact with them. They are all grown now and scattered in various places, so I never see them.
Tax refund hit this morning.
