I'm specifically thinking of the ones along I-90 that are now part of the Palouse to Cascades trail. I get sad knowing that we used to have a ski train up to Snoqualmie ๐ฅฒ
But yeah, the freight relationship is incredibly frustrating

And yet, it had train tunnels 100 years ago. We just chose to prioritize highways and convert the rail system into bike infrastructure. As a cyclist, I'd much prefer we still had rail access through the mountains.
Wtf is wrong with you?
Just got downvoted in the r/Seattle post for suggesting that people should have a DD if they absolutely have to drive somewhere to drink ๐ซก

Fun fact: my grandpa was both an observant Jew and the ruling judge in a case that tried to challenge the blue laws (Mack Paramus v Paramus). I asked him about the ruling once because I always assumed it was church-related, and he said that Paramus just needed a break from traffic once a week.

From Reddit:
Congestion pricing is a tool for places with reliable and extensive public transit systems. If someone lives far from a dense area and needs to drive there, it's more likely they'll drive to a transit station since transit is much cheaper than parking fees ($25/day min) in cities.
The poorest commuters use public transit. Car ownership alone is expensive.
