I compensate for my lack of typical solo chops by using a composer/producer approach and invent little challanges or concepts as a starting point. Like choosing an outrageous sound and playing in a major phrygian mode but avoiding the exotic clichés that comes with this scale choise.
She is part of a circus troupe called Glimt. They are based in Copenhagen, Denmark. I think her main trade is acrobatics, but she also sang and played the saw. I had the fortune of doing sound for them at an event in Lund, Sweden.

Is this a trend? I keep stumbling upon these brilliant one take singthroughs on Youtube and when I check out the studio versions I'm always underwhelmed. Is the hunt for perfection during recording hurting the performances or is it deliberate so the singthroughs can become more viral?
