Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei killed, senior Israeli official says reut.rs/4rLPrBs
Alistair Campbell: βHave you seen any world leader actually come out and support the US-Israel attack on Iran?β Rory Stewart: βYes, Albanese.β

Labour leader finding that kowtowing to social conservatives, Zionists, Trump apologists, Murdoch and the fossil fuel industry is a recipe for electoral oblivion. Gee, that sounds familiar. When will these centrist numpties learn??
Breaking News: Israel said it launched a strike against Iran, and residents reported explosions in Tehran.
In decades to come, people will still be quoting from Albo Jesus' sermon on Mount Marrickville.
Trump and Republicans are:
-Trying to ram through a bill that would disenfranchise millions of voters
-Considering an EO that would allow Trump to take over elections
-Proposing to station ICE agents at polling places
Theyβre trying to rig their way to victory. We wonβt let them.
Why is everything turning to sh&t? In βEnshittificationβ, journalist Cory Doctorow writes how online platforms first attract users, then abuse them to benefit business customers, and finally harvest all value for themselves. This brilliant video shows how the model works. vimeo.com/1168468796?f...
The US is looking at Australia's retirement system and thinking perhaps we do it better than them. Tell you what chaps, drop the silly subs debacle and we'll show you how it works, OK? crr.bc.edu/can-an-austr...
All signed, sealed and delivered, Mr Trump, sir.
Renee Geyer's 'Difficult Woman' seems appropriate. youtu.be/BVfNM8Ejomc?...
Itβs terrifying. Just
imagine if we had a political system where the people were sovereign and it was one vote-one value?
In βThe Terminatorβ, an AI entity becomes self-aware, decides humanity is a threat, and launches a nuclear war. In βRobocopβ a rogue US state run by tech overlords submits humanity to a machine. Can there be any doubt we now exist in an β80s movie sci-fi dystopia? www.reuters.com/sustainabili...
Brainwashing, 2026 edition. This paper shows how X's algorithmic feed shifts people's views rightwards. It's a sophisticated, highly effective form of reorientation. And it is utterly chilling.
If you're still on that platform, unhook yourself now.

And to those who say this is pedantry, that is what sub-editors are paid to do - exercise precision with the language. If you donβt have that in your KPIs as a journalist, you have no right to call yourself one.
Theyβre at again on ABC News: βPolice allegedly seized a prohibited weapon.β NO! βPolice seized what they allege was a prohibited weapon.β The allegation is not what they did. The allegation is that the device is unlawful. The problem is they are using an adverb when they should be using a verb.
Donβt forget, when Pauline drops racist bombshells into the media for everyone to react to, sheβs now being funded by Gina Rinehart, major contributor to racist propaganda group Advance and inspired by MAGA-guru Steve βflood the zone with bullshitβ Bannon.
The offence is the point.
Precisely. Somewhere back in hacksβ memory of what constitutes βjournalism schoolβ these days is a dimly remembered lesson that if you stick the word βallegedβ somewhere in the sentence you are safe from contempt of court. Just clueless.
ABC news referring to βallegedβ stabbing in Sydney in which one person died and several were injured. Journos, PLEASE, that people were stabbed is not an allegation. It is a fact (unless you believe the victims impaled themselves on the assailantβs knife. The allegation is about who did it.
Nowhere Man
I believe the gap that is opening up is on the urban liberal left. Thatβs the constituency thatβs underrepresented in power. But it will take a coalition of the Teals, Greens, disaffected ALP left and what remains of the Liberal moderate wing to fight the dark forces taking over this country
ICYMI itβs too good not to repost todayπ€£ πππ

What defines a βprogressiveβ inside the Liberal Party? Someone who favours the catβoβ7 tails over nine? Pulls only one wing off butterflies? Wants us to go back to 1958 instead of 1948? Itβs a fight for the Angry Old White Man vote.
Australia is a tax free gas and coal colony for foreign owned Exxon, Conoco, Shell etc. (Angus is perfect he used to work for McKinsey, which services them) the same reason Pauline Hanson is still a thing. The ALP will give big fossil everything they want BUT are building RE. This must be stopped.
I think the media environment has something to do with it. The media is almost entirely right wing, with a business model based on fomenting and exploiting resentment. The answer is not more blancmange centrism but a serious populist leftist alternative
As Guy Rundle frequently observes, the majority of Australians are now knowledge class small βlβ liberals concerned at widening inequality, climate change, housing affordability and our grovelling to a failed US state. So why are the ALP, Libs, Nats and One Nation all competing for the cooker vote?
To be clear, not one single person sincerely believes that "from the river to the sea" is a genocidal or antisemitic slogan. They're just pretending to believe that in order to get new laws passed which crush free speech that is critical of a genocidal apartheid state.
Gets to the nub of the issue - the assumption among the Australian political and media class that the interests of Jews everywhere and those of Israel are synonymous. These were primarily Jewish AUSTRALIANS. There are Syrian Jews and Lebanese Jews and Iraqi Jews etc; None are Israelis.
Advance Australia purports to be 'grassroots' but the pro-fossil pro-Israel lobby group is actually funded by millionaires & billionaires such as Packer, Rinehart, Liebler. @sstephanietrann.bsky.social investigates.

Cory Bernardi, new One Nation pick, went to America to train in climate denial with #AtlasNetworkβs Heartland Institute. This One Nation, like Farageβs Reform, is a tool of reactionary billionaires determined that no fact will stand between them & profit. #Auspol
