The next day, UCLA released a public statement which contains false, misleading, and unsubstantiated statements. My colleagues and I wrote a chronicle of what we saw first-hand and also wrote an article for The Nation. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

Astonishingly, police drove two motorcycles at night into a pedestrian plaza while students were fleeing. This was extremely unsafe as no one expected motor vehicles in this area and a student could have easily tripped and fallen in front of a motorcycle.

On Apr 30 an outdoor movie screening at UCLA was violently suppressed by roughly thirty police officers in riot gear with clubs and projectile weapons. Here a student picking up AV cables is grabbed and pushed by a police officer (video by Renee Tajima-Peña).
