Calling your AI agents 'employees' is a surefire sign youβre going to be insufferable.
I just want a world where quiet, good work is rewarded over dancing for an algorithm. Where children arenβt used as props online, where we hear about good work not because of a social post, but because a human we trust talks about it. Where we donβt need it to be listed online to matter. Thatβs all
Probably one of the weirdest and coolest things Iβve ever done - I hung an invitation for a paper collage night in the elevator for the other girls from my block, and we had the BEST time. Letβs bring back neighborhood communities and casual hangouts in private spaces.
Weβve had too many days lately that deserved that title. Iβll gladly take a completely dull day when nothing at all happens
(greetings from Poland)
My mind is still wired to see things as neat equations with a single right answer, instead of the messy mix of hundreds of human, business and societal factors they really are - but Iβm getting better.
Life is better since:
- Instead of making statements, I make bets and test them,
- Instead of looking for binary answers I see things as a spectrum,
- Instead of seeking definite answers I look for patterns
today's the day I fell in love with the works of Clay Christensen. Because of the "Innovator's dilemma" with I'm deep-reading now - and because of this TED talk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvos...
Itβs amazing, caught my eye immediately! Thank you so much for sharing it (and creating it in the first place!)

"ambient fans when the chord changes after 10 minutes: OKAAYYY" under that is a picture of Jamie Lee Curtis posing with her hand sassily on her hip.
a platitude I know, but I saw this sentence today and it made a lot of things Iβve been thinking about recently make a lot of sense
some wounds heal completely, others harden into scar tissue
Itβs never been easier to learn than now, also never been harder to resist the temptation to outsource the products of your learning to an LLM.
Yeah I can read about something but how can I _really_ learn what it is? This was the question that struck me during a morning walk and this piece is an attempt to answer it.

Okay this is THE ultimate comfort movie. I watched this wrapped in a blanket, had some fries, some chocolate covered salty sticks and a smoothie. Life is good.
Here's a great list of ideas if you feel like you're too engrossed in that little glass rectangle in your pocket (or...the one you're staring at RIGHT NOW π).
Bonus idea: a friend of mine has started inviting people to have lunch at his house. "Come on over, let's make some sandwiches."
Is there a word to describe Obsidian's business model? Revenue primarily comes from optional paid services that have free alternatives.
Freemium isn't quite right because freemium apps typically paywall features, or have usage-based pricing. Obsidian's features are free and there's no usage limit.
2 years married to my dude today. The most amazing human being I know, Iβm not even exaggerating. He just wants me to be 100% me and I just canβt put in words how amazing it is to have someone in my life who truly loves me no matter what.
The hardest thing about coming back from 2 week PTO is retraining muscle memory from my thinkpad back to my work mac
@annehelen.bsky.social on bullshit jobs.
I 100% believe you can make yourself become a hardcore nerd about anything at all, but Iβm yet to precisely describe the process to do so. Any ideas?
Letβs say that for whatever reason you need to start genuinely caring about something random, like lightbulbs or seats in trains. What would you do?
The only right way to use Facebook in 2025:
- in browser, installing an app only if I want to post something & deleting it immediately after
- religious minimalism with # of groups Iβm in / # of people I follow
- cleaned up with #blockit app
For real. I somehow completely forgot how personal web used to be before Facebook & other generic social media took over, turning personal internet spaces into digital luncheon meat. Going back to neocities, blogs, forums or even taste aggregators like lastfm gives me so much joy.
been working on my neocities site for a few days. it feels like making a home. i'm building the rooms, decorating them, making them me
when it's done i'll invite people over & they'll come inside & see the photos on the walls, the knicknacks on the shelves & say, "ah, this is she. i know her now"
Pacific coast, Washington beach at midday. Heavy gray clouds hover low over a quiet gray beach where the silver waves gently lap ashore. The dark beach sands meet the glittering waterβs edge.
