Five Leagues:
I'm waiting on a couple of sprues to arrive before I build any of my warbands. In the meantime, I've decided on my own world, that way I'm not restricted in what I can do with it. I'll start world building tonight and coming up with some story elements. Fun! 😁👍
As a solo gamer, I really enjoyed Five Parsecs, so I intend to jump in with both feet with this project. 👍
Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning. Add what I want. Create my own factions. My own lore. My own world map. 👍
There are no rules for mounted combat/chariots. But I've seen people treat mounted units as being on foot. There's nothing to stop you adding your own house rules though. I'm going to add some mounted guys at some point. 👍
Having played 'Five Parsecs', I thought I'd dip my toes into 'Five Leagues' as well.
I'm unsure of my setting. I'm torn between making my own realm, or setting it in the GOThrones-verse or Witcher-verse.

A bit more progress. I like to get the command done first and then work my way down the sprue. It gives me something to aim for when completing each subsequent base. 👍

My battery of Parliamentarian Falconets is now finished. I decided to paint the gun carriages and crews different colours, just for the sake of variety. I'm really happy with them. 👍
I recently watched A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and so I started reading up on Sir William Marshal, as I knew he was considered a great knight. His list of accomplishments is staggering! In tourneys alone, he bested over 500 knights, capturing their horses and armour. 😳👍
HeroQuest Goblins WIP.
These little guys have quite a lot of character in their faces, which I think you miss if you don't paint them.
I just need to let them dry and then start picking out details and finish the bases and then give them a coat of Matt varnish. 👍
Today I repainted a dragon. It's now a Blood Dragon and again, I'll find use for it within my HeroQuest campaign. Maybe if a room gets searched it'll unlock a secret area with a dragon guarding a chest. The beauty of that is if it's not found, I can add it to the next quest. 👍
Just caught up with the latest episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series has been great so far, but what a brilliant episode! This is how I imagine most mediaeval fights looked. Knackered, muddy and confusing combat. I also enjoyed the snippet of backstory too.
I've repainted a Fire Elemental for use with HeroQuest. I'm not sure what it'll be used for exactly, but it's nice to revitalise old miniatures that have been on a shelf for a while and find a use for them. 👍

I repainted this Ettin (from Descent: Journeys in the dark). We're going to use it at some point during our HeroQuest campaign. I was thinking if someone pulls a 'Wandering Monster' card, they then roll a D6 and if it lands on 6, this chap turns up instead! Fun!! 😅
I had actually planned to sneak a Cuckold flag into the Royalists somewhere. 😅👍
English Civil War:
The Battalia Commander is now finished. I made a generic looking flag for the standard, which I'm pretty happy with.
I'll crack on and get the Falconets highlighted and based next. 👍
English Civil War WIP:
I've now finished the 3 Saker's bases. The Commander's base is almost done, just need to wait for the wash to dry so I can finish it. I've also painted and washed the 3 Falconet guns and their crews.

Yes, Kings and Politicians made some awful decisions. I feel the same anger when I look at all the castles that were slighted after the civil war. All that history, torn down without a second thought.
Lincoln Cathedral, built in 1072.
Salisbury Cathedral, built in 1220.
Ely Cathedral, built in 1083.
Canterbury Cathedral, built in 1077.
I'm in no way religious or have any interest in following a faith, but nothing is more awe inspiring to me than a Cathedral. What's More impressive is that those below have survived over 800 years.

The Elf is now finished. I gave her a bone armour look, just for something a bit different. That's all the Heroes done.
I've also always taken slighted to mean insulted by way of having little value or unimportant. It sort of fits. 🤷♂️
Donnington Castle was held by Royalist, Sir John Boys. In October 1644, Parliamentarians laid siege to it and the garrison held out for 18 months. Sir John surrendered the castle in April 1646 and was allowed to leave with all his men. The castle was slighted after the war.
HeroQuest:
My brother's Wizard is now finished. I'm really happy with this one, especially the cape.
