The challenge of having a lot of data driven research ideas is that I can constantly and almost immediately start new projects pursuing those new ideas when I really need to be finishing what is in front of me.
Got an email from a student I wrote recommendation letters supporting that they got in!! THIS is making my week! Supporting undergraduates pursuing their dreams is an incredible feeling!

I am even more aware of it as a committee member than I was as a graduate student. I think just because I’m on so many committees so seeing how the sausage gets made. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I should add that specifying where someone went to high school is also VERY Baltimore where the common I just met you question is “where’d you go to school?”
Doing more reading about Baltimore and had to really force myself to skim Brown in Baltimore by Baum because it was so good. My favorite part is that every new important person was introduced with a brief educational biography. A subtle nod to the theme of the book that also provided geographic refs

I stopped writing in my books. I could but history shows that every time I read I have new things I’m drawn to. So…this is my new system. Post its with notes to guide my typing later that I remove as I transfer notes. The process also gives me some non screen time.
