Well, it’s always important for ppl to evaluate the full spread of results when it comes to medicine/biological sciences. But I say that as someone used to being the outlier on basically everything, including having good reason to check up on what doctors say.

That’s where I’m lucky. I did very well in undergrad chem, but my hubby actually has a degree in it. So right now, I’m like β€œbut could u consider creatine supplementing in the context of aging, active women and not just basic ppl who eat meat & greens?” to my hubby. He’s handy, if a procrastinator.

I found all the information understandable, but I had training in undergrad (U.S.) and grad school (london) on how to read and assess technical lit and studies. I’d say the average American lacks the analytical capacity to evaluate and synthesize technical information. We’re kinda cooked in the U.S.

My doctor, a surgeon in the U.S. sent me PubMed lit after I disagreed with her surgical plan and gave her lit review from Australia. The pubmed lit review made the same case against doing an ooferectomy the australian data did. I felt she was doing a CYA for us against the ProvSwedish med system

Oh, just saw another post. Glad to see french wine is safe. i do love CA and Ore wine, but I do aim for estate most of the time, but never thought about it for French production.

So when in the U.S. buying french imports, look for estate too. Damn. This has never crossed my mind for French/Euro wine. I just assumed their laws would prohibit blending with U.S. grapes.

Dang! β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή And this was the fee for a tax professional in Texas? I’m feeling more convinced since college tax class that our overly complex tax β€œreform” is rooted in regressive-ism. I hope β€œlast year” means 2024 taxes prepared in 2025, and that you find a more affordable option for prep this year.

Did you take deductions for SALT, medical (share of income) and other deductions, etc? $750 isn’t as high is it was 10 yrs ago, but that’s still fairly high.

I’m certain it was the City Attorney’s Office that had DoIt remove the contact file from the internet and has kept it down. Having it up made it really easy for Whistleblowers, Seattle Silence Breakers, journos and other β€œactivists” branch out and reach employees, especially for ppl put on leave.

WHRC = WA Human Rights Commission, which usually gets cases routed to it as a partner co-filing agency to federal agencies. The EEOC is a useless πŸ•³οΈ , but WA HRC gives public employers cover and does downright shady πŸ’© on public employment EEO matters. WA govt is a beast 4 public employment matters.

Good to πŸ‘€ Protec17 out SDHR-HRIU in this. HRIU predominantly exists to turn complaints against management abuse into retaliatory counter complaints against victims. WHRC is gonna be sad to do a real EEOC partner agency investigation rather than destroy a complainant for WA public employers like COS

selfie of me after 6 km run on running path. Cloudy but 4 UVI and ~ 94% humidity. Woman, dark hair down from ponytail , dark eyes, RX sunglasses propped on head, dark red freckled face, freckled complexion, sweaty neck and shirt collar, pink oversized running shirt.

#5KADay 530, 531, 532 #running ~ 6+km each. Monday was ~ 18mins in zone 5/red, but 0 the others. Still significant left leg weakness but knee is fine. Rough running with high humidity, higher UV, and sun cream on since I mostly sweat from my face and that traps in surface heat πŸ₯΅ #Runchat #Runsky

I’ll do an update once I pull the trigger. I definitely want to find something backed by a certifying org for quality.

It depends, I often get water retention and have already noticed I’m dealing with more bloat than usual already. It’s not uncommon for women with several autoimmune diseases to struggle with digesting supplements, but I might try a type a creatine women like me apparently tolerate better. Thx!

04.03.2026 21:37 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Basically, I’ve had to avoid a lot of supplements because of stomach and migraine problems. I noticed it when I suddenly started getting migraines from an old protein powder - Vega. My long covid journey was a lot of lessons on coping with a more complicated situ, including fodmap stuff.

04.03.2026 21:33 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I was looking up different sources and apparently Creatine hydrochloride is better for ppl who typically experience bloat and stomach upset. Add to that migraines and soft tissue inflammation and it’s why I have to avoid vegan protein products, etc. Which type of creatine do you take?

04.03.2026 21:33 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

I worry about adding creatine because weight gain/bloating is a common side effect for women my age. Between the Dupixent weight gain and the move/winter stress weight gain I’m not playing right now 😭

tenderizing large format meat and cooking it thin sliced really helps + roasts/braises + cooking whole fish and whole chicken. Food is our biggest cost besides rent even tho I’m not keto anymore. Fresh, whole, organic food is very expensive plus quality whey powder. Trashy food is affordable food 🀬

I’ve too been thinking about food tracking to help clean up some bad habits that have crept back in since our Oct move. I think anything that disrupts social connections also fuels bad food choices. Plus it’s tough to use the gym here because it’s just not nice/user friendly like the last one.

while I added rice/noodles/bread back in, it wasn’t until I no longer had metabolic disease. I stoped using the fasting window and exercising fasted around Aug 2024. I did still eat high fiber berries. I focused big time on getting lots of sleep. I don’t think eating changes mix well with poor sleep

04.03.2026 17:34 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I focused on whole foods as much as possible and I avoided ground meat and lunch meats as much as possible. One rule of thumb was every snack had to include fresh vegetables even if i broiled before eating

This is basically how I started my personal re-fitness journey in 2023. I did it with a daily fasting window around 18:00 to around noon the next day. Basically I did 90mins+ fitness walking and didn’t break my fast until I did my exercise. But I was borderline obese with terrible labs.
