Female Guinea pigs are known to get ovarian cysts. Spaying, taking only the ovaries and not the uterus, prevents this and is also safer than taking both ovaries and uterus.
Hazel was spayed on Tuesday and came home eating, drinking, and was over all comfortable on her meds. No cysts for Hazel!

Meet Hazel.
She came to County of Santa Clara Animal Services very thin.
The shelter was kind enough to transport her to Our Pack, Inc.Rescue. We are grateful for their help.
She’s already eating her hay, greens and pellets and settling in.

I was a really good boy today! I got my yearly booster to continue protection against RHDV2. It’s a deadly virus to rabbits. If I get it, I would likely die. So even though I really don’t like going to the vet, it’s worth it.
