Columbia, SC showed up for #handsoff
This. Are you ready?
this tracks.
So, what now? Just knock off for the weekend as everything continues to burn as it was? Asking for a couple million friends...

If you are my friend & are on Blue Sky, you have likely taken some actual action in the past 2 months to speak up/out for what you believe. I wonder how many people I like & love haven't? The ones who tag social media posts w/cute little emojis. How to make them understand, they are a problem...
This is correct and necessary given the state of things.
Democracy dies in primer… #bezos
alternate universes would think this is lunacy, but here we are....
What's next state of south carolina? Will private businesses be excluded from participating in state contract work unless they sign documents pledging fealty to McMaster? Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott? Trump? This is insanity
Last March, when the world was still semi-normal, I renewed an online WAPO subscription for a year and pre-paid. A number of months ago I suspended the subscription but it technically didn't "end" until March. Today I called to completely cancel my entire account, reason given - Bezos is an idiot.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Just came here to say that I have interacted with many different people at different locations around Columbia, SC this morning, and y'all have been lovely! Really! Makes me happy to be fighting the good fight along with you. Picture of heart cookies for interest!
Crockett: "Down in Alabama, who's broke. Down in Louisiana, who's broke. I can go through pretty much the entire south and tell you that they're broke and rely on a lot of welfare from the government. To be perfectly honest, it is tax dollars from these big blue states...we're in the find out phase"
@thestatenewspaper.bsky.social has been on Bluesky for 2 months and has fewer than 200 followers. Their Bluesky account is just checking a box...
Here is some good news in Columbia, SC! Come join me and 4 other kick-ass designers in a panel discussion called DesignHER at the Columbia Museum of Art! March 20 - bring your friends, bring your daughters, it is sure to be enlightening 💯
Columbia, SC showed up!
This is bunk. I know I shouldn't attempt to apply logic to this, but saying you are working to save money for people is laughable. A lower purchase price for a less-efficient appliance is quickly offset by the increase in never-ending water/ gas/ electric costs. They're working for the utilities.
Beautiful day to protest in Columbia, SC
Met with my Fin. Advisor, dumped all investments in reprehensible companies. Moved to companies that are trying to do good. Opensecrets is a great site to research companies. Fuck this stupid stock system. I am privileged to have investments and have a responsibility not to fund bad companies.
They don't carry everything, but try @mcuban.bsky.social mark cuban's online pharmacy. I found my prescription there and it is inexpensive and easy. Your doc uploads the prescription to them!
Here is the full SC delegation, lawd help us... sc.gov/government/g...
One look at the SC Congressional delegation tells you all you need to know about this state. *shudder* sc.gov/government/g...
From UCLG, Bloomberg, and City of Columbia, SC! "Today, we are kicking off the second round of the Columbia/Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund program. This time, we have $100,000 to distribute in microgrants to youth-led projects ages 15-24 to fund a groundswell of youth-led climate initiatives"
thanks, I signed up for their alerts
Thanks!
@mollydonlon.bsky.social hi!
Today I sent emails to two people the State of South Carolina loosely refers to as "senators" stating my opposition to confirming Hegseth. They will still vote yes. I will not be silent. Some will say my correspondence did no good, but it is better than meaningless likes and comments on f@cebook.
Do something you consider scary that is outside of your norm. Call politicians. Write letters. Attend meetings. Once you do the scary things a couple of times you take the mystery out of them. These things matter.
Involvement in organizations at your local level - so important. Many people think that they are really connected and involved, but it turns out they are just coasting by interacting with organizations they are already connected with. Get outside your bubble and find new places to put in the work.
