Experimental mRNA flu vaccine is more effective than conventional flu shot, but causes more side effects

MRNA sales are a wreck these days, but these are great flu shot results, albeit with harsher side effects. They don't even cite the anti-cancer properties found recently in mRNA shots.

Mice were tattooed with commercial inks or PBS control. In selected experiments, BNT162b2 mRNA vaccines or UV-inactivated influenza A virus strain A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (H1N1) were injected into tattooed footpads to assess local effects on vaccine capture and response.

The Tattoo ink is transported by the lymphatic system and accumulates in the draining lymph node. Here it is captured mainly by macrophages. They cannot metabolise the ink, and eventually die, passing the ink to the next macrophage

The consequence is that the Tattoo ink induces an acute and long-lasting inflammation in the draining lymph node. This cronic activation status can negatively effect future immune responses, such as shown, upon vaccination.

The authors conclude that the redistribution of the unretained ink from the tattoo site to organs other than the skin may have toxic effects and that the accumulation of these insoluble pigments might have negative effects at systemic levels.
