Torontonians learned of his "serious error in judgement" (John's words) only shortly before he said resign, triggering what City Clerks called "the largest by-elxn in Cdn history." I'm struggling to see how it was anyone else's call but his. HE judged himself harshly - so now it's our fault he did?
Often I post stories I don't agree with. This is an example. Mr. Paikin's charming but sometimes clubby approach to journalism has made him forget: the person who judged John Tory's affair harshly enough to drive him to resign was... John Tory. His call, his consequence.
