I'm 28 today and to celebrate I wanted to share this new piece I've been working on ✨

I'm not against allegory in fiction, but I personally feel that it should be multi-faceted enough that it doesn't feel like the author is writing an extended thesis or should have written a poem instead. Or maybe an album. Or painted a painting

Forcing myself to finish an audiobook I'm not enjoying so that I can hone my own taste and critique skills (and because I'm trying to read 50 books this year)

So far, 32 feels like I'm actually a "real adult" who can exist without permission to and it's really empowering

But also, every night is a battle to find a sleeping position where I won't tweak my shoulder

It's so exhausting reading about how LLMs are being used to bomb schools and then having to listen to my coworkers talk about using ChatGPT. I don't think "exhausting" is a strong enough word, but I am truly exhausted

What I don't understand about climate doomers is how they refuse to accept the fact that every single fraction of a degree of warming we can prevent, whether that be now or in the future, will save lives and ecosystems. Also, adaptation exists, so there's no excuse to give up on activism.
