New project Iβm excited about: a model that forecasts free agent contracts based primarily on media rankings.
The model utilizes rankings from ESPN (Matt Bowen), NFL.com (@greggrosenthal.bsky.social), the Athletic (Daniel Popper) and PFF.

Thank you for these recaps all season! Has been a joy of watching the show. Felt like when I used to go find Molly Lambert's Mad Men write-ups after each episode. Makes the show so much more enjoyable!

I joked about this at the combine, but the new flex among NFL content creators is taking a screenshot of a TruMedia page.
Next week, I'll be at SMU moderating an awesome panel about how IndyCar and Major League Cricket have gained a foothold in a crowded sporting landscape in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
We still have a few spots open for this free event!

Bengals have re-signed OL Dalton Risner, his wife, Whitney, announced on Instagram.
Bengals bring back a right guard who performed incredibly well for them last season. And unlike last year, Risner doesn't have to wait long in the offseason to find his team for 2026.
Former Bengals safety Vonn Bell will coach safeties at Colorado this season, he announced on IG.
Feels like a matter of time until heβs on an NFL staff.
Interesting: Bengals exec Duke Tobin said he hasnβt had a real debrief with Joe Burrow after last season. The two sides have had conversations though, Tobin said.
Elon is awful in many ways, but it is also just good business as well
The less beat writers use X, the quicker and more rapidly it will dry up (which is rapidly happening among casual users, btw)
Making a very concerted effort not to post on X during the combine because that place is bad for business and the sooner everyone got off of there, the better.

What an incredible way to put it haha. And thank you for this!!
As someone who uses ChatGPT to troubleshoot, what are your thoughts on using AI to code?
Would that eventually extend to here?
The Seahawks were fourth in the NFL in rate of plays that went for 20 or more yards (ESPN).
Among the top 12 vet deals when sorted by guaranteed money, they have as many QB/WR as specialists.
From last week:
A low-key Bengals problem that was highlighted by the two teams in the Super Bowl? The offense hasn't been nearly explosive enough in recent years: www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...
Tyler Reddick!!!
Thought ESPNβs DβArcy Maine did an incredible job documenting what exactly happened with Ilia Malininβs stunner in Italy: www.espn.com/olympics/fig...
Big win for the owners.
Many improvements made in recent years have come after criticism from the NFLPA.
Now teams can operate without public blowback from the players.
Excited to be part of this panel at SMUβs Bridwell Institute in March!
Weβll talk the upcoming IndyCar race in Arlington, cricket and the economics and interest driving both sports.

You were correct! Sorry about that. Had some wonky stuff happening in the data and got that sorted out
I cleaned up a couple of the points for guys who had somewhat wonky contracts (see Grant Delpit, who signed a deal late in the regular season).
Here's how this year's free agent safety class fared in coverage this year (min. 150 snaps). Average salary per year is represented by the size of each respective point.
Has another year left on his deal
Spoken like a true Giants fan!
Numbers suggested that when he was out there, he was incredible.
NFL Bluesky:
How good was Julian Love for Seattle last season? Trying to get a sense of it because the numbers suggest he was far and away the best coverage safety in the league last season.
Also, I agree with your original part and I apologize for the sidebar haha
Yeah that seems a bit much from Martin. I am still pretty new to the sport (since 2020), but there's no need to start a race if the course is getting slammed and drivers can't see.
But isn't danger an inherent part of F1? Like there's a non-zero chance that someone could die in any given race.
