Every day you get a substack from someone that either has a humiliation fetish or just isn’t very bright that should be titled “why I need to be fired”

OK, so, I won this stupid auction and in case people find this skeet, 1. It wasn't $5,000 ultimately, it was $3520. I had intended to spend $500 at most. But this turned out to be too good to pass up. Now I'm on the hook. I can cover it but it's going to be a bit intense.
i had a real heat check on snobbery toward poly relationships for this exact reason lol. gay adjunct professor in music with husband, boyfriend, house, children in highschool. very competent guy. love him.
regarding ILL, idk what your geographic locale is but i find a lot of not-academic american libraries doing ILL will coordinate with the lender to email entire chapters to you, no physical access needed for the reader. my KY public library does this all the time (and offers membership to non-locals)
a lot of scholars seem to get recent articles/chapters thru forums like pidantuan dot com, forums that lack search and don't store stuff and where you get a certain # of requests per day (and run off ad revenue). sometimes that ends up on places like AA but a whole lot of em don't.
"gotta be a joke about" is a great form of post for any pseudonymous forum. "Most of the credit I got on assignments in highschool was for effort." "I don't actually know how to be funny."
need more awkward uses of this screencap
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

The terrain really has shifted. But it makes these institutions' earlier capitulation even crazier in hindsight. It's one thing to sell yourself. It's another to sell yourself for nothing.
it's in the air. it's just a matter of time now
as glad as i am she is out i feel so weirdly helpless that we just lucked out on a smooth talking mayor that can knows what to say to the demented emperor
I've reported 2-3 stories in my career that have sucked the spirit out of my body and this was one of them. But! Seeing the response of the fgc to help their brother genuinely put it right back. Im humbled to have been trusted with this. Help your neighbors friends those in need are all around you.
they were waiting for a check! you were right!

Vanderbilt appears to be discontinuing many major surgeries for transgender adults.
It's uncertain exactly what procedures will be discontinued, and the loss of care will have major impacts on trans people in the region.

NEW: So just how many votes did Gaza cost Harris? I estimate that nearly 5 million Biden voters sat out the election because of it - more than enough to have lost her the popular vote.
