Aye that makes sense! I was more thinking that the primary curse was being undead, and vampirism was the method of skirting the consequences of that affliction. Dunno why but I randomly thought of blood being treated as oil that maintained a bodily machine and took it a lil farther lol

Random take on vampires- They don't drink blood or consume it, but rather need it as a transfusion, as their undead nature corrupts their own blood is treated as a filtering material. They still need to eat n stuff to give their bodies materials to keep themselves together
