Yeah, I'd also say it's a weird perception that it's either gonna be really hard and lots of practice all the time and little fun/sparring or the high buy in price.

I'm a danger to ceilings with a full steel, and the weather is shite so training indoors with a duello subscription would suit me well.

Fiore dagger and Sicilian knife fighting yesterday, also some one handed sword and in sparring gave as good as I got, which was nice! Excited to do more, gonna invest in a gorget and a buckler next month, some padded pants too. Got an indoor training sword coming too, cause at about 6'8 (203cm)

If I had a million for every good thought the average reform voter had, I'd still be in horrendous fucking debt.

Yeah, I think the last I saw and enjoyed was in The King. The bit of longsword, some half-swording, wrestling in the mud with rondels. It was decent.

I'm glad I can turn off that part of my brain, or a lot of the fantasy, historical kinda media I enjoy would be ruined 🤣

The one downside of knowing even a little about swordfighting? Fucking ruins some media, did Geralt look fucking cool doing the spin around thing? Yes, would I have impaled him with pretty much any sharp object with disgusting vigour the moment his back was turned? Also yes.

In happier news I ordered myself a nice waxed jacket that should be here Thursday and had a happy accident ordering whiskey. Had a bottle of Kilchoman Sanaig in my cart and forgot, checked the email Monday and realised I'd ordered two of them! I'd be annoyed, but Sanaig is divine 🤣

Ahahaha, if only! Got about a year of German longsword to my name and in starting to learn Fiore, I'd have little to brag about.

As are mine when I play D&D, though whilst it removes some of the magic. It's more that the place I work at is also where the Hema club is located. 🤣
