'Speed the Musical: An Unauthorized Parody' is real, and it opens in two weeks The musical with 13 original compositions based on the Keanu Reeves movie is the biggest project ever put on by The Glitterbox crew.

NEXTPittsburgh writes about Speed the Musical:

"...this coalescence of Glitterbox regulars and strangers from around town is community theater at its best. There’s no drama, he says, only people coming together to support each other’s dreams and ideas."

I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

A flyer with a photo of Dr. Shir Hever and description of two events taking place in Pittsburgh:

Dr. Shir Hever will be speaking and discussing the arms embargo campaign against Israel on Feb 19 and 20 in Pittsburgh. He will also touch on the technology used to oppress Palestinians, and our military-industrial complex and the arms lobby.

Part one will be at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 605 Morewood Ave 15213 on Wednesday, February 19, 6:30-9pm.

Part two will be at the Glitterbox Theater at 210 W. 8th Ave, 15120, on Thursday, February 20, 6:30-9pm.

Both sessions will be informal talks from Dr. Hever followed by a Q&A session. Both will offer light snacks. We encourage everyone who supports the Palestinian struggle for liberation to attend these events to learn more!

Dr. Hever is the International Coordinator of the Military Arms Embargo campaign of the International Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. He is a much-published economist, born and raised in Israel, now lives in Germany, and is the descendant of many Holocaust victims. You can read more about him and www.shirhever.com. The local PGH BDS Movement and the Howmet Accountability Campaign (HAP) are sponsoring his visit.
