The blizzard may be slowing down, but we haven’t taken a snow day. Our crews have been out since yesterday clearing platforms, deploying de-icers, and ensuring that our trains and buses can travel safely during the storm.
We’re grateful to our frontline employees for keeping the city moving.
We are closely monitoring the ongoing winter storm. Avoid unnecessary travel if possible. If you must travel, use extra caution.

MTA crews kept more than 2,300 buses and 4,400 subway and Staten Island Railway trains moving through the storm.

LIRR crews used salt, heat, and jet-powered snow blowers to keep trains moving yesterday. Yes, jet-powered.
The railroad has seven rail-bound jet blowers — repurposed jet and helicopter engines — that blast snow and ice clear of switches and the third rail.
