Honestly thank you so much for reading my work, and offering such kind words regarding it. It was such a pleasant surprise to see the notification this morning. To your very fair reasons for choosing it, sometimes it pays off to be the goth girl. πŸ–€

S/D/Y Feb 22 – Conversation with my Ghost by Abigail Lilith Ravenheart – Fifth Wheel Press I’ll be honest, I chose to read Conversation with my Ghost out of all the other pieces in this publication, partly because of the title, but mostly because it was the only one with a content …

Day 53! I read Conversation with my Ghost by @abigailravenheart.bsky.social published by @fifthwheelpress.bsky.social. A heartful conversation, and an important one. Read my review here:

Ravenheart International Film Festival Ravenheart International Film Festival (RIFF) is a fast-growing genre film festival inΒ Oslo, Norway. We areΒ Norway's only film festival focusing solely on the fantastic genres within cinema.

I just found out a film festival exists with the same name as me! Already having Norway on my short list of places I want to visit, I want to attend this in the future so much.

Wish I could find some merch from it. The mug on their site is so sick. πŸ–€

City folk looking at a house in the middle of nowhere: why does this cost so much there's nothing here?!

Country folk looking at a loft in the middle of town: why does this cost so much it's in the middle of all this mess?!

Ngl I'm the first one. Too social to endure true rural life.

"I love you so damn much, I’ll even start to pray.
I’ll put my faith in all your bullshit, if it means you’ll stay."

Tried it. Don't recommend it.

Not a poem, but lyrics to Every Day is a Struggle by Senses Fail. I never stopped vibing to them, but they are certainly the mood for me lately.

"LISTEN TO ME: THE MOST HOLY DAY OF THE TRANSSEXUAL CALENDAR IS A MASS FUNERAL."

This is the urgency I devour in writing. This is trans rage exemplified. This is the tone the world forced on us. These are the words our people scream into the wind.

This is beautifully urgent work.

"The truth

is that I do not think I am ready, at all, to die.

Not that it matters."

Beautiful existentialism. Is it always so delicious when you taste your own philosophy so tastefully, succinctly written? The presentation of this is something I aspire to in my own work.

Not that it matters. πŸ–€

You ever struggle to discern if a line you wrote is actually cooking or just baffling? Is it a failing on my part that I can't tell the difference?

At this point science is just screaming these facts into the void that is US (and more broadly right wing) ignorance. Like offering a glass of water to the thirsty and they continue drinking antifreeze instead.

You cannot reform a disease. Either you kill it, or it will kill you. You either carve it out completely and incinerate it, or any part of it left behind will spread again. Allowing it to stay endangers everybody.

There is no possibility of reform. Abolition and prosecution is the bare minimum.

Cannot recommend enough for fellow trans poets to check out and look for submission opportunities with this publication. Ori has been nothing but a pleasure to work with, and the work featured is so potent. Also, a very aesthetically pleasing website, which is always a plus to me.

transitive rag Issue #2 Issue 2 out now β€” transitive rag is a quarterly magazine of trans writing and art.

New poem is live today. πŸ–€

The poem is a burning haibun, a form created by @tagreathouse.bsky.social , and I anxiously hope I've done it justice. "Purgatory Ablaze" is deeply personal, exploring queer religious trauma.

So incredibly proud to be part of this publication.

Eye to the Telescope Eye to the Telescope, the quarterly online journal of SFPA, the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association, an international organization of speculative poets.

"A room of poets; a packet of seeds."

Reading "A Pack of Seeds" by Ori Diskett. The ideas presented feel like putting words to the unnamed. I imagine most poets worry about what we take from other poets, but this piece finds a beautiful view of that process.

the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches

Conversation with my Ghost β€” Abigail Lilith Ravenheart β€” fifth wheel press Abigail Lilith Ravenheart (she/her) is a queer, transfemme poet residing in Carbondale, IL. She is a winner of the Jon Tribble Memorial Award for Poetry, and her work has been published in Grassroot...

Sharing this work as one of my own lines haunts my brain today.

"Flinching as arms spread

A honor and a pleasure to have my work featured in @fifthwheelpress.bsky.social with so many talented poets.

Two Poems by Michal β€˜MJ’ Jones – beestung

Two gorgeous works. "Deeply Infiltrative" and it's succinct exploration of the discrimination trans people face in the pursuit of healthcare is so loud. We fight and die seeking treatment. This line resonates, radiates:

"you know, you are not supposed to be here"
