(2/2) Previous research on this topic was inconclusive & this finding (despite being null) tells us more about the nature of both delay discounting & OCD. I am so grateful that I had this chance to work with the Global OCD study team! Check out the full paper here: doi.org/10.1177/2167...

People With OCD Do Not Overvalue Immediate Rewards
A new study finds that people with OCD, despite feeling compelled to perform rituals in response to their obsessions, are just as willing to delay gratification as everyone else.
(1/2) I collaborated w/ a global research team (in Brazil, India, Netherlands, South Africa & USA) who collected data from >250 ppl w/ unmedicated OCD & >250 healthy ppl, and the jury is in: people w/ OCD show normal delay discounting. Check out my blog post about the paper: tinyurl.com/OCDdiscblog
