Couple more pics from platform near halfway point. Lighthouse above and carpark below.
Cape Pallister lighthouse painted red and white stripes. There are 254 steps to the top.
The veiw from step 128 looking down to bottom of stairway to lighthouse at Cape Pallister. Son on left waiting for me to start downward journey which was hard on hips and knees.
Weekend out Matakitaki a kupe aka Cape Pallister. Didn't make it all the way up to lighthouse. Halfway was my goal. Vertigo got me quarter way up but son kept encouraging me and last 20 steps was backwards on my bum lol. Lovely whanau time and back home before storm hit.
Great couple hours in garden tis morning.
Two cats snoozing. Bella(ginger and white ) our most handsome fella and his sister Chief(black).
CT scan done and dusted half hour early. Was told 3 times 'first thing you do when you leave here is eat'. So a huge date scone and a cuppa it was. And now, nap time with these two.
Atamarie folks. CT scan late a.m. so coffee and Ensure before water only deadline. Sigh

View to the west.In the foreground are red hot pokers in bloom. I dont know name of other orange flowering plants but beside them is Mum's rose bush. Near the front gate is Phoenix Palm Grandmother planted over 60yrs ago. There are native mixed in with Mum's Camelia trees along front boundary. Also a nectarine and feijoa tree on lawn. What we don't see behind the cloud and mist/fog is the Tararua ranges.
The fire is onnn.
So came away from yesterdays checkup with appmt for ct scan to see what my 'livein' boarders are up to. Fingers crossed, they've shrunk some more or no change is also good.
My phone makes the weather look good today.Trip back from Hutt.
Remutaka range shrouded in mist and rain.
