It's super disheartening to see that dude getting a 2 book trad publish deal, when he hasn't even written a book yet, he just pitched an idea and has virality on his side. Especially considering there are people from marginalized identities who are extremely talented & have been querying forever.
Anytime I see someone with a 💩 take I'm just gonna post clown music and point out at least one of the trinity (SJM, Kate Stewart, Elle Kennedy) proudly displayed on their shelves, because it never fails. Bonus points if HP is there as well.

My bookish hot take is that books with an all straight non-LGBTQ+ cast are boring. Like give me some sapphic, give me some achillian, give me bi, demi, give me anythingggg but 2 straight cis people and the book instantly becomes more entertaining.

If you're willing to pay $70/mo to hear a man live read a book, who is clearly just capitalizing thirst traps & having you fancast him as a book boyfriend, you may need to be smacked upside the head a little bit. Also, Penelope better be getting a cut of that if their book is being read for profit 👀
