Also thrilled to announce that Volume 1 of Agoriad: A Journal of Spatial Theory, is out. It was a huge labour of love for all involved and there are some terrific papers. The theme is Indigenous Ontologies. #geosky #academicsky

Wim Wenders's incredible documentary on Anselm Kiefer is now playing in the Criterion Channel in the US. Won't be as breathtaking as the 3D version but it is still very much worth seeing. www.criterionchannel.com/anselm
Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Envelopes Addressed and Mailed by Type [and Graphic] Designers at Katherine Small Gallery β a lovely little flat-file exhibition
reading massumi is assuring, maybe my first book wasnβt that bad
so my conclusion is that this album is pretty good. 7/18 plus selfish single which was a banger !
basically hits need to have βcurrentβ sounds + predictable notes suddenly turned unpredictable (rendered possible by the vocalistβs talent)
Wouldn't it be great if the rise of AI were to lead social science to place more emphasis on expressive and creative academic writing, rather than the formulaic kind of language writing that AI can mimic quite easily.
you would hate it if someone else were to speak on your behalf, if itβs about you and what you care about
why would you want now βsomethingβ to be speaking on your behalf, as if what you express has nothing to do with how you insert yourself in the world?
i honestly think itβs interesting that computers and robots are smart and write better than us and maybe theyβre useful in some settings but language is about expression & the way you do it is an art
AI focus group with students βhonestly i wonder whether this is going to encourage its usage
βwe canβt stop it now so letβs talk about βthe right usageβββnot so sure
