ll those arrested have had their phones taken from them and can’t be reached in any way yet.

Some are allegedly being beaten and hurt. More protesters are being rounded up to other stations. #OccupyJulorbiHouse is the hashtag to stay up to date on what’s happening in real time.

There’s a PEACEFUL protest happening in Ghana yet the Police with backing from the government are rounding up protesters for no reason, calling them suspects, cramming them up into buses to police stations and beating them!!

It’s being heavily talked about on twitter but I need y’all to be aware!!

The government has dispatched the police in fully capacity to harass and arrest these protestors!!

Protestors are being held in custody, beaten and their phones seized and so cannot be reached!! Please help us amplify this!!!!

Ghanaian citizens are lawfully and peacefully protesting the poor state of the country and standard of living, lawlessness and lack of accountability from the government and the oppression of citizens ESPECIALLY the queer community and other marginalized groups.

Ghana is very unsafe for all!!!

So even as I strive to attain my long term goals, I rely on these short term reward systems to get me there🤍♥️

My ADHD thrives on reward systems only when the rewards are quickly attainable. Long term consequences (read: benefits, gratification, reward) are unfortunately things my brain cannot comprehend or be patient enough to stick it out for.

I challenged myself to push through my tasks for the day which included studying and I promised myself a reward of a new pair of crocs and cool jibbitz.

I did it, and the cool part was I got gifted the crocs I wanted by an amazing person who likes to support and reward my efforts.

Nearing the weekend, I felt so unmotivated to study. I learnt as a lot about ADHD and it’s impact on my performance esp when the “motivating” factor, being punishment, no longer exists.

I have to find new ways of motivating myself and for this week the answer was new crocs.

I've been a performance poet for 9 years and for the past 3 I've been experimenting with blurring the lines between music and poetry and it all made sense to me when I began to do this through the lens of the traditions of my people.
