NEW: ICE is asking companies to provide information about “commercial Big Data and Ad Tech” products that could “directly support investigations activities,” reports @carolinehaskins.bsky.social www.wired.com/story/ice-as...
How can you help Minnesotans right now?
Call your goddamn Dem Senator and tell them you will never vote for them again if they do not shut the government down over this.
If you have a republican, call them and call them fucking cowards.
Minneapolis protester as he's being brutalized by feds: "You're gonna have to kill me! You're gonna have to kill me! I've done nothing wrong! My name is Matthew James! I'm a US citizen! You're gonna kill me! Is that what you want?" (You can hear his wife screaming)

Just want to stress that this was a woman who was simply trying to get to a doctor's appointment.
Over the past decade, US immigration agents have shot and killed more than two dozen people. Not a single agent appears to have faced criminal charges.
Our reporter spent four years investigating ICE shootings that occurred from 2015 to 2021. Some patterns emerged.
getting a lot of questions about data centers and water here so re upping this! L
So, if I'm reading this right:
4 prosecutors at the Dept of Justice Civil Rights division quit because the Trump-appointed leadership won't investigate Good's killer,
and
6 from the Minnesota US Attorney's office quit when they were told instead to investigate her widow.

NEW: ICE had initially planned a limited pilot program to hire bounty hunters and private investigators for immigrant tracking.
The agency has now scrapped that plan and is going all-in, removing the program’s spending cap and offering up to $280M to any given contractor.

This is disturbing, and I’m glad to see @cnn.com covering it. But a passing credit to @wired.com 16 graphs in - when the entire story is a retread of our reporting - is journalistic malpractice.
I’m sick of it. Be better. Treat covering the admin as a team effort.
