Yes! Everybody likes magic items, players will kick off if they don't get them.
Many monsters have "resistant to non-magical weapons" as a major power - but it's useless.
High level characters can't miss opponents.
Etc, etc
It's an issue made worse by bounded accuracy.
And again, this is just guidance! Do what you want, just be aware these are the assumptions!
I've played "gritty Pathfinder" in the olden days with minimal magic and it was not obvious why it was miserable.
2) I like ongoing damage <3. Admittedly VTTs make it easier.
1) Players love magic items, even if they just add numbers. 5e burying its head in the sand and pretending nobody has items is one reason that maths breaks down and it is a nightmare to run over 11th level.
PF has the option to incorporate the maths, but anecdotally players prefer the items.
And THAT is why you get the big bucks as an internationally famous artist ❤️
