A 1944 map by geologist Harold Fisk charts a 40-mile stretch of the Mississippi River from Friars Point to Gunnison, Mississippi. Fisk used aerial photos and maps to estimate the past and then-present channels. Rivers are living beings.
Now will it have long-term legs? Who knows, man lol. The traditional Bungie ARG stuff is a great way to feed out new stuff though. I'll be really interested to see how the Cryo Archive stuff plays out, with how ephemeral loot is in the game in general, there must be something more.... grand to earn.
So far my impressions overall on the game remain positive. I think the progression systems do a really good job of building the player upward bit by bit, where even if you lose all your stuff it doesn't take as long to build back up to where you were.
Been enjoying the Thief shell in marathon, I'm a sucker for grappling hooks in shooters. Though I'm not really sure about how "Ultimate" the drone skill is. Wonder if it was swapped with the loot visor at some point.
Excited to see the real freaky stuff!
This is like how in the movies the computers would make all those bleeps and bloops when just going through files
I get why Steam CCUs are combed through and talked about so extensively. The data is available. Which, for this industry, is miraculous.
But CCUs only tell one part of the story, and the way people extrapolate and make wild conclusions based only on CCUs is unfortunate.
I get it. But meh.
Rumbling this around in my head all morning. I think this is cuz games aren't movies. They're in that weird zone between books/film and active stuff like sports. If you're really into Boxing for example you might not be chomping at the bit for Golf 2 cuz it's not your speed. And that's okay!
I admire his.....purity
I think I gotta see Hoppers this guy won't get out of my brain
I've with a lot of Peter Principles over my career and honestly they are the dream goal for me. They are absolute fonts of knowledge, and I love learning from them.
big shot, comin' through
Could not begin to tell you why (maybe due to being close to Daytona/Embry-Riddle?)
It's also my alma mater's logo for some reason :V
Hoppers looks great, also

Oh but hey if the full game could have a shooting range that would fucking rock please and thank you
I'll be interested to see how it feels progging through the 4 maps (Who am I getting I ain't ever getting past Dire Marsh).
Anyway if this doing well could lead to some sort of remaster of the orignal Marathon games with this aesthetic that would be hella rad but that's real pie-in-the-sky shit.
Note to all game developers: don't ever post about anything unless you're ready for that post to turn into a series of wildly inaccurate news articles.
