On Friday I had the absolute privilege of meeting with Kintyre Veterinary Services Louise Millar. Louise is a remarkable woman who in an incredibly short space of time has turned her idea of a mobile vet unit into a reality that is helping to provide a first class service to animals in Kintyre. 1/2

Inspiring start to a Monday morning at The Happy Wee Health Club in Oban. Katie, Karen & Sarah shared the wonderful work they are doing by providing a friendly and supportive environment to encourage everyone to have good fitness and nutrition in their lives.

What a brilliant visit to Campbeltown Grammar School on Friday to meet with pupils who are taking part in the UWS Foundation Academy.

This excellent scheme helps widen access to further education - it was very clear how much it has been benefiting the young people.

So proud of Aimee Mackinnon, pupil at Tarbert Academy, who has organised an amazing fundraising event for local charity Anam Cara Fasgadh as part of baby loss awareness month.

Following Brexit and economic mismanagement by Westminster, too many families in Argyll and Bute have been forced into unsuitable housing conditions, and the SNP is determined to end that for good.

A safe, secure, warm home is vital for a life of dignity and opportunity, and too many children in Argyll and Bute are yet to experience that.

SNP policies like this are changing countless lives across Argyll and Bute, and will continue this work to achieve our ambitious goals of closing the attainment gap even further.

10 years on from the launch of the Attainment Challenge, the attainment gap between young people from the most and least deprived areas meeting standards in literacy has reached a record low.

Under this SNP government, the poverty-related gap for young people leaving school and going on to a positive destination has reduced by 60 per cent since 2009 - narrowing at all three key qualification levels.

By investing in children and young people’s education, the SNP is helping to break the poverty-related cycle in Argyll and Bute.
