I appreciate you Tom Nichols very much indeed. And it’s a fine article. I will ask: how did many of us sense in the early 80s upon Reagan’s election that a latent “fascism” came through the door? (He was not a “fascist.”) It was a vibe shift that was a shock. That never returned to a before. 1
