@bdpbristol.bsky.social first Queer sober night, in collaboration with Bristol Sober Queers. 2 bands, one drag king and a DJ. Changing your relationships with substances doesnβt have to be boring or mean losing your connection with your community β€οΈ
Thanks Mat. Glad everyone has stayed safe so far
Great that you managed to get a batch tested. We havenβt heard anything adverse in Bristol but be v grateful if youβd share the intel if itβs anything we should worry about (re supply etc)?

I like the jumper but what does that say about me?! π
So excited that Bristol Poet Sukina Noor has chosen @bdpbristol.bsky.social to collaborate with as part of her official role. She is passionate about writing as therapy, making sure poetry is accessible to all communities and the power of being in a group. We feel honoured!

Amazing news- thatβs a super impressive number
It's very frustrating to see the UK govt still championing drug criminalisation despite clear evidence that it fails to reduce use or deter crime. The UK must align with UN recommendations and adopt a rights-based approach rooted in science & public health. bbc.com/news/article...
Still a few tickets ππ»
My book club just finished βyellowfaceβ. A pretty easy read and resulted in a good discussion!
Using drugs doesnβt make people less worthy of having a roof to live under. Housing promotes health, stability, safety and dignity.

Great round up of some of the things BDP are most proud of this year: www.bdp.org.uk/bristol-drug...
I thought this was a really great piece- nice to see something about G thatβs not sensationalised
β yes! BDPβs health and harm reduction centre has continued to keep HR services separate, despite the trends for integrated services over the year. NSP, access to a nurse, drug checking once a month with @theloopuk.bsky.social and of course, a cup of coffee and a warm chat.
Looking forward to @bdpbristol.bsky.social hosting this event. The drugs market is rapidly changing and we need to keep finding ways of engaging new groups of people in harm reduction practices. Please share with your network

Nearly 2 years ago to the day, Bristol was announced as the UK's Harm Reduction City. Looking forward to hosting this panel today to explore what this means in practice.
Thanks for organising and hosting Deb. I had such a great time and went home feeling emotional but inspired β€οΈ
SIPs can be distributed but they require a letter of comfort from police force. BDP are distributing and i know a number of other services are. Needless barriers in place
