TikTok Butters Up Trump as It Navigates a Ban in the U.S. The app has repeatedly name checked the president-elect in pop-up messages and statements, as it navigates a ban in the United States unless it is sold to a non-Chinese owner.

As TikTok fights a federal law that bans it in the U.S. unless it is sold, it publicly referenced and thanked President-elect Donald Trump for his support in statements and videos since Friday. It even built its flattery directly into the app so its 170 million American users could see it.
