My daughter turns 18 today. I’m giving her the gift of shared caring responsibilities with her brothers | Ranjana Srivastava
There are not many politicians (or people full stop) who have had a life like Labour's Naz Shah. She tells me all about it.

Dear Hearts can you help us get up to 2,000 subscribers? Spread the word, gift a sub, let your insanely rich mate who owns a private island that he could do with taking out 20 subscriptions... It's what will secure our future for the following year. Bless up.
Suggested addition to the agenda: please stop playing live versions or remixes on smart speakers when people are very obviously asking for the * studio version *
Remember how biased and leading the questions were in favour of the AI companies? And this was still the response.

This is a piece on how my GP practice appeared to be misuing the new online booking service by suggesting it's the only way of making appointments. (ie not through phone or walk-in)
If something similar has happened to you, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Now this is how to start a history book. A Wiltshire story teller 1890s.
"There were a time, 'tweren't in my time, neither in your time, nit (nor yet) in anybody else's time; 'twere when magpies builded in old men's beards and turkey-cocks chewed bacca”.
Carbon emissions aside, I think what I also want to highlight here is that the scale of job losses associated with these proposals is truly shocking. Apprenticeships gone. Thousands of businesses going bust. A government truly motivated by growth simply would not do this.
Climate change affects EVERYTHING. It’s mad that the issue has become left-coded when it should be just reality-coded
CMAT playing at Cambridge Corn Exchange. She's sitting on a platform on the stage, smiling, with a giant neon Euro coin with her face on it as the backdrop.
KYRIE ELEISON! CMAT at Cambridge Corn Exchange, lord have mercy indeed.
Q: Do you agree with Goodwin’s assessment that some British people from minority ethnic backgrounds are not actually British, and if so does it show that Nigel Farage’s bar on far right views in his parties has gone? Tice: “I just think your assessment is completely wrong. Matthew is is putting out some really important messaging. You may or may not agree with all of it, any of it, or none of it, but that's the joy of free speech. The very fact that Reform has moved the whole debate on illegal immigration, legal immigration, shows that actually we're in touch with the wishes of the people. I know about all these sort of smear labels. I just think the message from the voters, voting for us in record numbers, tells a story.” Q: So do you agree with Goodwin? Tice: “I can agree with Matthew on lots of things. Life would be boring if you agree with absolutely everything.”
At the Reform press conference I asked Richard Tice about Matthew Goodwin being made the head of the party's student wing, and Goodwin's views on some minority ethnic Britons not being British.
Tice did *not* distance Reform from Goodwin or the views – feels like a significant moment.

Beautiful piece by @TimAdamsWrites on the brilliant Observer journalist Rachel Cooke who could write wonderfully about anything, has died tragically young and will be hugely, hugely missed by so many people.

Also such a force during the fight to keep the Observer and Guardian together.
She was a truly formidable critic, so erudite and sharp as a knife.

I learned here that Andrew Tate's Hustlers University taught copywriting. Imagine you unwittingly hired one and your website copy is all like: "My unmatched perspicacity coupled with sheer indefatigability makes me a feared opponent in any realm of human endeavour."
