#HRC60 has adopted a resolution on the #HumanRights situation in Russia, extending the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur.
Amid escalating repression and over 1,000 political prisoners, the UN Human Rights Council reaffirmed: no State is above scrutiny.
Independent monitoring remains essential.
At #HRC60 ID w/ EI on #CAR 🇨🇫, the Benelux countries 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺 note that continued armed violence & grave violations and abuses of IHRL and IHL persist. However, we stress that the upcoming elections are a historic opportunity towards a democratic, inclusive & peaceful society.
