The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) has announced that it will stop publishing content on X from January 20th
The organisation stated that it can βno longer ethically participate in a social network that its owner has transformed into a machine of disinformation and propaganda.β
In Australia we have lots of GPs (FM) with special interests sometimes working with other non-GP specialists to help with that shortfall. Rheum, Derm, Allergy, Psych, Neurology ask difficult to get into so need this sort of support.
Great to see @theracp.bsky.social announcing a new position statement around illicit drugs and advocating for decriminalisation. Stopping the cycle of harm through keeping people out of jail and supporting them in improving their health makes so much more sense.

Also it has features for moderation by community including labels. Detach Quote to remove trolls using posts will be useful!
yep. Itβs a bit like 2009 twitter. feels possible to focus on information sharing, conversations and fun! big reset.

More something in line with the statement. Iβve been actively trying to switch people from pMDI for quite a few years now, but I imagine a succinct guideline would help prescribers.

Australia seems to have settled into a pattern of 2 big Covid waves a year, with the summer wave just as big (if not bigger) than winter waves.

Naplan scores remained stable amid Covid school closures: new study New research from UNSW and the University of Sydney suggests that Naplan scored remained stable during Covid-related school closures, while other countries reported learning losses. The research, published earlier this year, analysed Naplan test scores across Australian states β comparing differences in student performance based on varying periods of remote learning between 2020 and 2021, with school closures ranging from nine days to 157 days. Dr Nalini Prasad said students in schools that operated remotely for an extended time βperformed similarly to students in schools which were closed for a relatively short periodβ. Australia adopted a zero-Covid policy which used lockdowns β and other non-pharmaceutical interventions βpre-emptively to eliminate the transmission of Covid-19. Per capita Covid case numbers and deaths were considerably lower in Australia. Low Covid case numbers meant that students did not have to miss school due to contracting the virus. Researchers used Naplan test scores from 2013-2019 as baseline data, comparing them with scores from 2021 and 2022. The data also suggested remote attendance rates were comparable to, and sometimes exceeded, typical in-person schooling levels.
