The Joe Franklin Show was a New York institution for years. He is credited with having the first ever TV talk show. It aired from 1951 until 1993, with most of that time being spent on WWOR. I remember staying up late during the summers and watching the show. Over the past few years, I've learned to appreciate the unique nature of his show a bit more. He would have some well-known celebrity as a guest (such as Al Pacino, Howard Stern, or Michael Jackson) and then follow up with someone who nobody had ever heard of and probably hasn't since. And the guest would be sitting next to each other for the entire show. There's clips of his shows on YouTube and sometimes I'll get the urge to watch a few. They still entertain me
