Younger nurse thought older nurse had said "pangolin kit", apparently. They went back and forth for several minutes before the situation resolved and it came out that no, she had not violated Australian biosecurity laws to import a baby pangolin.
Two nurses were discussing Christmas plans while prepping me for a procedure once. The older one said she'd gotten her daughter-in-law a fancy mandolin kit for Christmas, after learning she didn't have one. The younger nurse gave her a funny look and said "But I thought those were endangered?"
βShe was shredding with that mandolinβ brings up 2 very different images
Three books on a light, hardwood floor in a gently fanned-out arrangement. The first is a Penguin English Library copy of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, with a bi-colour leaf motif. The second is a Penguin Classics copy of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, with a loose ink painting on the cover. The third is a copy of the Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin with blue foil tracks across a blurry, snowy cover.
"Hey, did you notice neither of us has a copy of Wuthering Heights anymore?"
"We also don't have a copy of Jane Eyre."
"... wait, really?"
"We don't have a lot of classics."
"Why not?"
"Lost? Loaned? We've both moved inter-continentally?"
"... ... ... ... bookshop?"
"Bookshop."

can I please piggyback off you as a Bigger Account that responses like "lol it's Kansas what did you expect" or "Kansas deserves to be hit by more tornadoes" are actually not helpful or comforting to the people being harmed most right now? Because no one bothers listening to me
Something like 40 people rescued from flood waters since about 6pm. Wow.
Genuinely do not remember. I got as far as "I was on a visual kei cruise on the Nile" and one of the vocalists fell overboard so the Captain dove in to save him and .... that's it. That's all I remember.
So now we're getting rain and everything north of the CBD is facing flash flooding. Whoops.
i am glad to be a trans person on hrt. being trans is awesome and incredible and anyone persecuting trans people is hell's own jackass. gender should be a playground not a prison camp with barbed wire around it
I mostly distrust philosophy of all kinds because every time a philosopher really gets going they eventually, inevitably, start talking about trying to awaken long-dormant undersea gods.
It's weird how no matter what the philosophy is, it always ends up with "we must awaken these entities"
"Who?"
Captain Thomas.
"What??"
Oh that's right, he dove in to save a singer who was thrown overboard suddenly.
"Why???"
Sometimes I remember my dreams perfectly upon waking, and sometimes they come back to me as I'm letting my thoughts wander. And those cases are more fun, because I'm putting the laundry on the line and suddenly "I wonder what happened to Captain Thomas after he jumped off the steamer into the Nile?"
They've been promising storms all week no no avail; just sticky, hot, humid air. Other parts of the state have gotten hammered, but we've had five minutes of rain and a lot of low rumbling thunder, and that's it.
A low-light image shows bare limbs close together, hands resting on skin in a relaxed, unguarded way. The composition suggests rest and emotional closeness rather than movement. if you cancelled your Nitro, you can sub to an artist's patreon instead likely for a lot less monthly.
Example: Someone like @adorkastock.com at the highest tier will still save you $5~ a month & gets you a shitload of pose refs & supports small biz doing a global good
win win!
Philosophy #FAQ Ontology: what the fuck? Causality: why the fuck? Epistemology: how the why the fuck? Phenomenology: the fuck.
But the restraint corset looks so goooooood

When Gavin Newsom says "the Democrats need to be more culturally normal" with "less focus on pronouns" what he's actually saying is "the trannies aren't normal and don't normalize them."
Nono, see. You're sweet. That's the point. lol

This goes for indie authors, too. I've unfollowed plenty and will continue to do so.
And yes, I've even unfollowed a local indie who I had considered something of a friend.
He was tall--taller than even most other vampires--
Found the love interest
