WINE & WHITE SQUIRRELS by Samantha Gwyn. This is an adult contemporary rom-come complete at 70,000 words and has series potential. Small town life and a woman who doesn't have time for games, blend in this fun and sexy story sprinkled with laughter, interfering aunts and gallons of red wine.
Comps and Tropes. IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER, THE PUMPKIN SPICE CAFE AND BOSS WITCH. Themes and tropes: family and found family, quirky small town, meet-cute, grump/grump, self discovery and redemption & growth.
The Pitch: Maddie had no idea that moving to a small town meant secret fiancées, ALL the town gossip, a crazy ex and two men who drive her wild, but when a tornado hits, she faces her biggest challenge yet.
An Excerpt: She chuckled a low throaty laugh and turned toward the sidewalk. “Well, this evening turned out much different than I thought it would.” she said, looking over at him as they walked. “Do you always go to the bowling alley and make-out with strange women on Sunday nights, or is this a one off?” He watched as she licked her lips which were slightly swollen from his short beard. “This was a first for me,” he grabbed her hand as they walked “I usually make my moves during miniature golf.”
Updated #agentguide #editorguide ready for the world.
Mean Maddie is moving to the country, but the country might not be ready for her.
She had no idea small town life could mean secret fiancées, ALL the town gossip, 2 interfering aunts, 1 sexy neighbor and a literal tornado heading right for her.

Last night's writers group was so motivating! I love reading through everyone's pieces. The library had to kick us out at the end of the night 🤣

Went to an acoustic strings concert yesterday, took a notebook. Music with no words somehow helps me write, and I wrote for 1 1/2 hours! Really helped me unlock some story points I was struggling with. Highly recommend!

Map background featuring the following text: The first few lines… Reese stared at the giant ship in front of her. Boat? Vessel? Whatever it was, it was huge. Her bulging suitcase and backpack sat at her feet as heat from the cement radiated up to her already warm face. Anxiety rolled through her as she stared at her new home and workplace. Thanks to the Miami humidity, sweat ran from her temples and she brushed it away with her fingertips while staring up at fifteen decks of the largest ship she had ever seen.
As a new crew member of the World Cruise, Reese wants to see the world & find out who she is after a toxic relationship, NOT fall for the grumpy guitar player onboard.
