Whenever I finish an outline, I'm always left with a couple plot points I'm not sure where to place. Only by writing the thing can I test out what the best flow and order of events will be. When you have lots of moving parts, you need to actually move them to figure it out!

1. The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers

New Years means it's The Twilight Zone marathon time

I have not been able to write stuff I intend to publish for over a month. But I've been writing for fun to get those muscles back into shape, and trying to not let capitalism make me feel guilty for doing art for fun instead of a goal of eventual profit.

My mental health has been pretty rough for the past 6 months. Depression and anxiety have kept me from doing much of anything, especially writing. I'm relieved to say I'm slowly breaking through the flareup. Horror, as always, has helped me identify the sources of fears and cope with them. 🕸️🖤

Here’s why you shouldn’t pull your punches as a writer:

A big part of the appeal of a book is how dedicated the author is to their idea.

That crackling energy only comes from compulsion, the true driver of creativity.

Restrain it at your own peril.
