If you want to support a museum and get a pretty cool book, I recommend this book illustrated by @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social. Lots of really good info, I just hope that itβs easier for people to get their hands on relatively soon.
Result from the Koobi Fora #paleostream! This region on the east side of modern day Lake Turkana in Kenya is a treasure trove for fossils of the early Pleistocene and is most famous for many early human remains, with up to 6 species present throughout the layers...

A black-and-white pencil sketch of a lateral view of a skull and mandible of "Cormohipparion" goorisi, surrounded by the outline of the head as it likely would have been in life.
As the #YearoftheHorse begins, I will share an overview of my recent journey through reconstructing prehistoric horses. For such an important, beloved, and fascinating lineage, there isn't an abundance of paleoart of them (and very little that diverges from established tropes)π§΅. #paleoart #sciart
Very cool paper and thread! Very curious how some fossil groups would fit into this
Finally had time to look over this paper since I just finished writing the article for it on Wikipedia. It and the environment it lived in are super cool and I recommend looking into them if you have the time!
And here the result of the MOTH locality #paleostream!
This incredible site from the early Devonian of Canada preserves an alien fish fauna drawn by preschoolers. As with other pieces from this series we can't actually show where these animals were preserved. The anoxic...
A bit late but here are my flocking drawings from last Friday: Incisivosaurus, Haikouichthys, Denversaurus, and Chasmataspis #paleostream #paleoart #sciart
Those guys look like otters but theyβre actually some of our earliest seals! When they were originally found, they also thought they were otters.
Some mammals i thought I posted along with a new one: Arctocyon, Potamotherium, Puijila, and Longirostromeryx #sciart #paleoart
This turned out great
Result from the Djadochta Formation #paleostream! This iconic place gave me a fantastic challenge, not just in terms of environment but also because besides the dinosaur the really cool stuff from here is actually rather small. I ended up with a rather unusual composition...
Trying to post my flocking sketches more often, this time we did Platycerabos, Mixosaurus, Tetrameryx, and Hyperodapedon #paleostream #paleoart #sciart
I'm finally putting up a commission sheet since I've been wanting to for a while! I mostly specialize in fish and mammals, but I can draw almost anything. Contact me so we can figure out how to work together! #commissions #paleoart #sciart
Vector illustration of a pair of Qilin tungurensis, a middle Miocene giraffe, laying next to eachother. The male on the right is larger than the female, with tall, curved ossicones on its head, while the female lacks ossicones. They are both dark brown in color, with light grey around their faces. A spider web like pattern of white and grey on thier undersides forms the giraffe's characteristic spots. Text reads: Qilin tungurensis. Xiaoming Wang, Nikos Solounias, Su-kuan Hou, Lu Li and Yukimitsu Tomida. Vector illustration of Civettictis vulpidens, a large terrestrial civet from the early Pliocene of South Africa. The animal is facing away from the viewer, looking up at the sky. It is sandy brown in color, with a dark mask around its eyes and spots across its body that blend into stripes around its throat, legs and tail. Text reads: Civettictis vulpidens. Charles S. Churcher, Grant R. Hurlburt, Romala Govender, ans Alberto Valenciano. It was really fun working on the size chart for this piece, so many Bannikov publications. I knew he did a lot for the eastern Paratethys but I had no clue how influential he is in Bolca.
Haven't been as active art-wise since a lot of my time has been going into wikipedia editing since almost nobody else does ray-finned fish and early eocene mammal groups. Though some of these were done last year, most of them are from throughout 2025.
Some more recent stuff than the last post: Taotienimravus, Toxodon, Xotodon, and Pakicetas #paleoart #sciart
Legit thought I posted these a month ago but I forgot: Amynodontopsis jiyuanensis, Labrangomeryx dorcapolis, Leptomeryx sp., and Peraceras hessei #paleoart #sciart
Now that SVP is over, I can finally post the commission that I did for @mosasaurologist.bsky.social 's poster on a certain very cool taxon! #paleoart #sciart
Look at these 2 posters! I'll be explaining them all day.
It's #FossilFriday again, and I am presenting 2 posters on Niobrara fish with Jeff Liston and @maryanningsrevenge.bsky.social at #2025SVP
Except for stem tetrapods, otherwise yeah...
That's something that I realized while drawing it, definitely took some inspiration from takins for the basic color concept. Big fan of the fact that the closest relative of takins may be Myotragus based on some papers looking at the DNA of caprines.
A partial recon of the new North American Pleistocene bovid Speleotherium logani. This guy is one of the few NA megafauna from this time described in the last century. Also showing that we still don't have a complete knowledge of the megafauna of Pleistocene NA #paleoart #sciart
Oh gosh, that would have been a while ago lol. Have zero clue when I posted on there was.
Did some giraffes and forgot to post them: Canthumeryx, Climacoceras gentryi, Georgiomeryx, and Palaeotragus inexspectatus #paleoart #scieart
Colored-pencil sketch of a Mexican Long-nosed (formerly Nine-banded) Armadillo on a white background, walking away at an angle from the viewer
Just barely making it for Septemberβs #NearbyNature2025, hereβs the Mexican Long-nosed Armadillo. Formerly known as a northern subspecies of the recently-split Nine-banded Armadillo, this is the only Xenarthran native to Alabama today. They are mostly nocturnal insectivores. #wildlife #alabama
